Okay, I'll be sure to do that. I'll look in the venom-vi forum to see when and where the meet on the 14th is scheduled, and try to make that one if I can.

I just got an estimate for a cat back including a new cat. Since yours was over $100, how much was it?

Why did you go to a 2.5" cat instead of a 3"?

My labor was 160.00 but hey, they saw me comin'. Everyone gets cheaper labor than that. I could've, but all of the mom and pop shops around here kept putting me off because it would take so long to do. Kept saying they were busy, etc. I have had all of the parts but the dynomax and hooker tips since early January. This was my Christmas present from my wife and family.

Oh, I went with the 2.5" cat because of advice given to me in a post. I was asking about throwing codes with a 2.5" cat. Some people said maybe with the 3", but not the 2.5". So, at the time, that's what I went with. I would've gotten a 3inch, but the muffler shop wouldn't swap with me during the install. Haven't thrown a code (regarding this)in over 100 miles, but some people are having the same success with 3 inches. I think it also depends on how well the cat flows. Also, at one time when I was really concerned about losing torque (I was so silly :D ) I thought that it along with the 2.5" Inlet on the muffler would retain some backpressure. My flow would be more around 2.6" or 2.75 or something. Who knows, it might've. Too many variables for me.

Man, I've read every post on the board regarding exhaust, 3in v 2in, before I did mine. Did quite a bit of research, i.e. mod encylopedia, gm highperformance mag article, (made comment about flow being restricted over 3000rpm), trusted "experts" on the board, howstuffworks, etc. Been planning this since 8/01. Well, what can I say, I analyze for a livin'.

Dynomax super-turbo muffler for 83-91 f-body, 2.5 in/out, part number 28917739, cost 44.99 at jegs. Something nobody ever mentions is its limited lifetime warranty against rust-through, blowouts, and defects in material and workmanship to the original owner. Thought I'd throw that in. ;)

Yes, but it doesn't cover shipping cost of sending it back to the manufacturer and having the new one sent back to you. They're so damn cheap that there's not that much $ difference if you just buy a new one if the old one goes out.

Well, I guess I better get into the 21st century and buy a digital camera. Put it off as long as I could. If I find someone to scan the photos (I don't have one of those either) I still won't buy one. Yep, cheap bast*ard! :D
