• Edelbrock Catback

I recently ordered the Edelbrock Catback System for my car (97 3.8) and just wondering if the chrome/stainless tips are included.

also is it a 3" exaust system???????

how does it sound when compared to a Flowmaster Rear Section system?

I HAVE THE SAME SET UP AND I DOESN'T COME WITH TIPS, JUST TURN DOWNS. AND NO ITS NOT A TRUE 3" CAT BACK. THE I- PIPE TAPERS FROM THE 3" AXLE PIPE DOWN TO THE 2.25 S-PIPE. I HAVE ONLY HEARD THE FLOWS ON THE NET, NEVER IN PERSON BUT THE EDELBROCK SOUNDS VERY DRONE, AND IT IS WAY TO QUIET FOR MY TASTE. I PLAN TO SWITCH MINE FOR A SPINTECH, OR FLOW. NOT SURE YET.

so you're saying it is quiter than just a rear section setup???

Right now I have JUST the Flowmaster Muffler and two 2 1/2" chrome tips.

Im asking if the catback will be louder than what I have.

I have the Edelbrock set up and at first its a little low but when it breaks in it has a real good sound to it. So dont be disapointed right away it will get better with time :D

I have the edelbrock and it's pretty loud. I haven't heard a flowmaster but if you check my donut video you can kinda hear a lil of the catback

I love my edlebrock!!!!
It does need time to break in.
Also adding a high flow cat, headers, and converter make it wicked loud!!!!

Thanks James, how long does it take for it to break in????

I dont ever plan on putting headers or a converter on this car, well not until I do the V8 swap at least. I just wanna have fun w/ the 3.8 then drop in the bad boy

It all depends on how much you drive your car. I took me only a few months to get a real good sound.
