What do you guys think about those Tornado and Spiral Max vortex generators that you put in your intake? Do they work at all?

Its common knowledge I am his daddy...

Either way from info I have read on this and other boards, its crap its a gimmick. So is the erma supercharger...

The eram does not spin enough air to make a difference in fact it blocks the normal sucking of the motor, and the tornado things do not work, andy gains made up are destroyed at any turn or at the TB. Thus it does not allow anymore air in. And if it does it makes no difference.

People have dynoed before and after with all of them on the same day and all showed 1-2 hp losses.

That is form this board, 2 other f-body boards and a highly foreign and Europeon and Japanese car enthusiust board.

If it worked top fuel racers, NASCAR, F1, and every car at the dragstrip woudl have one now.

For the Firebird/camaro, the tornado wouldn't work, and that is due to the air straightener infront of the TB. What spin the tornado puts in the air flow, this screan (air straightener) takes out. HOWEVER!!! in some vehicles, this product does work very well. My family has a 2002 chevy Avalanch, it got 17mpg consitently, and when I installed the tornado, we now get 18 to 19 mpg. On top of that, the first time out with it since the tornado was installed, we could notice an increase in acceseration. In conclusion, for our f-bodies, no, dont get it, but it's a hit and miss deel with some other cars/trucks
