Is any one of the high-flow air box lids (Whisper, G2, RK Sport, SLP, etc.) better than the others? To me, it seems the only variation is price.

As far as I know..... NO... I've had the whisper and loved it. I don't think there is really a difference, other than price.

My $.02 is screw the after market lids. Pliers and a dremel are all you need to have close to after market and you save alot of money. But to answer your question or at least try; I think I saw one a while ago that claimed to have more space, as in it was taller and more room for air. But don't hold me to that.

Don't think there's a different other than the K&N. If your going to buy everything new then go ahead and get the K&N kit. If you can find things used then get a lid for around $100 or less and a ram air kit for about the same or a little over. The K&N goes for $300 but is equal to or better than a lid and ram air kit. It doesn't get your filter as dirty in one little spot either.

            1) Whisper is the only airbox lid which fits.

The 3" opening from the lid back is way more benficial than just removing the wind-slots in the OEM lid.

If you buy an aftermarket filter, currently the best on the market is the Holley Poweshot. Its a very sturdy and goodfitting filter unlike the more flimsy and smaller K&N.

I thought someone said any lid would fit whether it be for the V6 or LS1. I know the outlet would be in different places but arent the LS1 lids the same size??
