Is any one of the high-flow air box lids (Whisper, G2, RK Sport, SLP, etc.) better than the others? To me, it seems the only variation is price.

As far as I know..... NO... I've had the whisper and loved it. I don't think there is really a difference, other than price.Keith - 99 'maro - White M5 - bumpstick and boltons - 13.65 @ 101 N/A

My $.02 is screw the after market lids. Pliers and a dremel are all you need to have close to after market and you save alot of money. But to answer your question or at least try; I think I saw one a while ago that claimed to have more space, as in it was taller and more room for air. But don't hold me to that.1998 Red RS 3.8l A4
Whisper - K&N - N20 - 1LE Panhard - Ghetto STB - 255/50ZR16 Ecsta
Removed grille - Limo tint - blackouts - A-pillar cf a/f ratio
Panasonic DF88 - 1 12\" Eclipse 88120.4 - Eclipse 3322 amp
http://members.cardomain.com/raven_rs

Don't think there's a different other than the K&N. If your going to buy everything new then go ahead and get the K&N kit. If you can find things used then get a lid for around $100 or less and a ram air kit for about the same or a little over. The K&N goes for $300 but is equal to or better than a lid and ram air kit. It doesn't get your filter as dirty in one little spot either.1997 Nassau Blue Vette
1989 Jeep Cherokee 4x4 (lifted with 31\" tires)
2000 V6 Camaro, loud, cammed 210rwhp *SOLD*

1) Whisper is the only airbox lid which fits.
The 3" opening from the lid back is way more benficial than just removing the wind-slots in the OEM lid.
If you buy an aftermarket filter, currently the best on the market is the Holley Poweshot. Its a very sturdy and goodfitting filter unlike the more flimsy and smaller K&N.2002 5-spd NBM Camaro

I thought someone said any lid would fit whether it be for the V6 or LS1. I know the outlet would be in different places but arent the LS1 lids the same size??1998 Cayenne Red Camaro 3.8 A4
-Whisper Lid, K&N, manual fan switch, DEI 508D

FOR SALE:
-Whisper Lid
-PAC OEM-1 adapter
-GM Delco 12 disc CD Changer
-MTX 4250D amp
-Kicker Free Air subs
-DEI 508D Proximity Sensor
