first impression... i hope it sounds better when it breaks in. :(

i took it to a shop to get it installed and it went pretty easy. if anyone has different exhaust tips they want to put on, the new version of the exhaust is for you. the passenger side pipe is now adjustable and i was able to put my b&b tips back on. all he had to do was cut the pipe close to the "y" section and then put the extention on, then the tip. the exhaust fits real nice and no rattles.

when i first started it up i thought "this isn't any louder than my flowmaster." once i pulled out of the shop and drove down the street i realized it was definitely louder. my whole interior started vibrating. down low sounds pretty good, but it got real raspy very quick. the rasp is worse than my flowmaster that was on before. to me it wasn't that loud just cruising home on the interstate. when i started driving from a stop is when it was really loud. since it's not broken in at all i'm hoping it will sound better after driving a few days. i wasn't paying attention to what rpm i was at when it got raspy, but i'll look later when i go to class. btw, i also installed a 3'' carsound cat and the 3'' slp "s" pipe.

i'll post again after it breaks in to let you know my opinions on it then. i'll also get video clips later on too.

This is not directed to you, but a lot of guys are being surprised by the rasp of the rumbler. Personally, when I heard the one soundclip they posted when this was first being introduced I thought it sounded like a chainsaw. I have to imagine that most people didn't listen to that clip because there is no way anyone could have thought that clip sounded good. Sorry for bashing.

The rumbler on my car sounded real nice when I still had the stock cat and manifolds....it was a tiny bit louder than the flowmaster but not much....on a stock car w/headers and no cat it would be very very loud and annoying...i sitll have the rumbler on my car now and it is very loud but sounds pretty good....

stock cat and manifolds here, and i dont know what you mean by rasp...i dont have any, and i've revved it up to 45oo in neutral for v8 guys and they agree no rasp. yes they know what theyre talking about because one used to have a v6.

let it break in, it does sound slightly different in that it gets milder. also i took out my maf screen and that changed the tone as well. not sure if you want to do that or not though. im happy with mine but obviously everyone has their different tastes.

it's starting to break in a little bit now. i think after i drive it around for another week i'll really like it.

it was funny driving through the parking garage today at school. before i used to chirp car alarms and occasionally set one off. when i pulled in today i set one off right away and thought it was kinda funny. as i was going up to the next level i set off a row of car alarms. at some point it got kinda embarrassing setting off every alarm as i was driving around trying to find a space. i had to roll up my window b/c people walking around in there were just looking at me. i can definitely say this exhaust is a real attention getter. Would you say that it sounds like a radial engine biplane when cruising down the road? Cause that is what a V6 with a Loudmouth sounds like.

the car seems to have some more power over my previous setup. my old system was a 2.5'' catco cat, 2.75'' piping, and flowmaster 80 series. i can definitely feel a difference w/ a full 3'' system. it's also beginning to break in some more too. this system is starting to grow on me. i will hopefully get some video clips in a week or two.

There is really nothing on the Rumbler to break in. It is mostly just straight pipe.

However, you new Cat will break in and the sound will mellow out once that happens. Mine actually isn't as loud now as it was when I first got it.

Parking garages and the Rumbler are fun I park in a parking garage at work and I get alarms to chirp all the time. At least once I week I get one to go off...of course giving a little rev next to cars that have alarms usually help the cause

At the parking garage at the Omaha airport I got three cars right in a row with a rev:

my fiance: "Did you do that on purpose?"
me: "yep"
my fiance: just shakes her head and sighs

yeah i think my cat is breaking in b/c it doesn't seem as loud as when i first got it. it could be that or i'm just getting use to the sound now. i reved it earlier today to 3k and it was still very deep so i know something is breaking in. i'll see if i can get my roommate to make a video of my car sometime soon.
