• Freakin' Whisper lid!!!!

I was installing my whisper lid today, and it took me a ****ing hour to get the air sensor into the rubber gromet piece and then shove it in the lid! I ended up putting a VERY LIGHT coat of vasoline on the main ring of it to get it in the gromet and then i had to file the hole in the lid to make it just a little bigger to get that thing in. It all works fine now, no SES light or anything. Everything else is easy as pie.

It seems to have a better response to the pedal now. I can't say the lid just did that. I got a holly powershot filter and a stage 2 jet in it already. I like the sound of it too.

Now all i got to do is install my SLP Ram air thingie tomorrow night at work. (yes, work is slow this week)

It feels good to work on the car again. (Just wish i had a garage)

if you'd actually READ THE POST and not be so flipping ignorant, you'd realize he was having trouble getting the IAT sensor into the grommet that came with the whisper lid.
I felt his pain...it was hard on me too...like sticking my ji....ah nevermind

I tried installing it the same way you did, but after 5 minutes I was getting frustrated. The pieces around the sensor broke off because I hit the sensor on the whole accidentally trying to shove it in. Then I tried it a different way, first I slipped the rubber piece in the hole. Then I slipped the air sensor right into the rubber piece. It slipped right in with a few twist. That way took about 30 seconds. Wish I tried that way in the first place. The other way is almost impossible.

Ya, well try doing it 2 times... I put the sensor completely in the grommet then realized theres no way to get the grommet in the lid casue it made it even bigger.

Im just currious. did you look at This before you installed it?

Maybe if you have a small grommet...
