Would it be worth it do you think? Im sick of my angled TB, I want to have the 99 + non angled youd think it would help that little air turbulence issue we have. Ne ways would I just need the Tb and air box assembly from a 99 + or would I need something else. I know the bolt patterns differ slightly but im sure I could get around that with a little though into it.

Sorry to say, but it is much more involed than that. You see the 99+ TBs have ETC and in order for you to make the swap you also need a 99+ computer and wiring from the pedal to the TB. It is really not even worth the hassle.2004 Dodge Dakota 3.7 litres of raw power!!
Nothing but a 6!
Do you know for sure? John 3:18

I dynoed my car with the whisper lid hooked up and then ran the next pull with an open TB. There was no HP difference. Of course the stock baffle system is restrictive. But if you are running a whisper lid with some dryer hose then I would just leave it as is.Michael Huff
92 RS, 98 V6, 97 SS, 00 Z28
http://www.carolinafbodyclub.com/

If I recall correctly the only part of the intake that is angled is the upper intake manifold. The throttle bodies should be the same bolt pattern. Therefore you should be able to use the mechanical throttle body that your car came with and just shorten the cable a bit.\" As being is to becoming, so is pure itellect to opinion, so is science to belief, and understanding to the peception of shadows.\" - Plato

eh, someone said they tried and the old tb doesn't bolt up to the new intake, but i'm not too worried about it. either way, i can make it fit.you can\'t get off if you don\'t get on

Thats my take on it. Its not that hard to tap out the straight 1999+ style intake bore to accept a earlier flange. BUT, I have a sneaking suspicion that the 1995-1997 tb is one flange style. And that the 1998 TB is the same flange as the 1999+ up ones since I have a 1997 intake AND a 1998 intake both here. The TB's are different between 1997 to 1998. I need a 1999 upper intake to make 100% sure tho. And I lack the money at the moment to drop another 50.00 this week to experiment. But I'll keep you posted. BTW, I fired up the volvo this week too.
