  • Will headers make my car run lean(er)

See mods in sig. Even though I got my computer reprogrammed the car still run slighty lean at times and has "flat spots" throughout the RPM range. I was wanting to know first how I could correct this and secondly if headers would make my problem worse (I'm assuming it would). Anybody else experience this??? Do I need bigger injecters? Fuel pressure regulator??

Yes, headers will lean your car out more.....

for a quick fix you can get a MAFT and dial it in both at base and WOT....

Also check injector pulse and O2 Readings at WOT

I am sure there is more you can do but thats off the top of my head....

he's gonna be pretty hard pressed to get a MAFT to work on a car that is not equipped with a MAF

I just don't want to burn a valve. Supposing I check injector pulse and O2 Readings at WOT and it is running leaner wiht the headers what can I do? How do people with free flowing intake and exhaust mods make their car run right??

You can try to reset the PCM...It might learn but dont count on it.

</font>[/QUOTE]Just unpulg the PCm for a few seconds and plug back in. turn the car on and off a few times and your good to go. and if your car is running a little lean might I suggest the AIT mod. I tried it a few weeks ago and love it. made a huge difference in the car. my post about it.
