I hear bad things about the whisper lid ducting too...after a year or two its gets pretty flimsy.

Whisper lids with ducting? That's a new one on me. Mine runs all the way to the tb with no ducting except the small stock piece that attaches it to the tb.

your car is a 2000, you have a straight TB. the '98 cars have a downward-angled TB that requires the use of ducting.

I found a thread on FBody.com that pertained to my problem. they should be able to help me.
