• I'm back from getting my 40 series!!

I decided not to replace the cat I had cut off. Still no codes showing. Gonna run a 3" setup with a Flow 40 series. I despised the 80 series, and my current setup (straight pipe) is WAAAAY too freaking loud, so I'm gonna try a 40 series. My exhaust guy said he will let me test drive everything he has in stock if I want to. I had the same setup with a 40 series on my Grand Cherokee 4.0 and it sounded perfect.....not sure about this 3.8 :(

Yup. The lower the number, the louder it is. At least thats the way Flowmaster is. I'm leaving now to get it on.

I'm confused. I thought that you thought your exhaust was already too loud? Why are you putting the 40 series on when you know it is going to be louder?

The DELTA 40 series would be quieter...not sure about the Original 40 series though. That's what I had on before my catback.

He said he didn't like the 80 series, and right now he is running straight pipes with no muffler. Didn't say the 80 was too loud. ;)

E-mail or AIM me for what a 40 series flowmaster sounds like on a stock exhaust system for a '98 Camaro V6 3.8L

The lower the number the louder is incorrect. The actual flowmaster from loudest to most quiet is in this order

40 series
Delta 40
50 series
Delta 50
30 series
80 series
60 series
70 series
<b>15.41</b> @ 89.80 & 15.45 @ <b>91.64</b>, 2.21 60ft, 3,440 raceweight, using <b>OEM</b> Equipment. <br />\'98 L67/M49 w/ 134,000 miles before spun bearing. \"<i>It\'s all stock, Baby</i>!\"

Devilboy28, you hated the 80 series, then I think you're going to hate the 40 series even more! I hope you do like it tho.

Are you back from the installation yet? I would like to know how it sounds. I'm looking throught Jeg's Catalog right now, and the Stainless Steel Flowmaster 40 Series Delta Flow looks pretty good.

I know their not really free-flowing, but heck, I'm not in this for all-out performance. THat's why I have a 6 ;) . I'm still thinking of how to set this up. Probably get a resonator too.

Go with the 40 series and not the delta 40. Detla 40 would be too quiet and won't sound as good. 40series all the way
