C AI question - does it increase fuel consumption?

I am about to get a CAI, he says a K&N FIPK or SLP CAI will increase gas usage as the more air gets into the engine the more gas will be used...

is this true?

actually you will see an increase in gas mileage (probably somewhere aroud 3mpg)

I loss gas mileage after modding the ride. Not to mention the gas prices are sky high! :mad:

I noticed a bit better mileage on highway but less in the city for the first couple weeks when I put in my CAI. The drop in mileage in town was probably due to my foot meeting the floor a little more often. ;)

you for the most part decide you milage..you floor it, the more you use...
you get better gas milage with the filter, a better fuel air mix make is senced by the o2 sensor telling your CPU to tell the fuel pump to back off cuz its geting the mix it wants and is burning the Original fuel taht is going in much better
