I know that when you install any kind of metal intake, you can hear your vavles resonating, but how loud should it be? I noticed that my valve chatter was fairly loud when I installed my intake, but I didn't realize how loud it actually was until I had a friend move my car for me the other day. I was sitting about 30' away or more and I could hear my valve chatter when he started up my car. Is it normal for our cars to be that loud?

Are you sure you are hearing valve chatter and not just the loud noise of the CAI? I have the SLP CAI and know that it is pretty noisy. (Actually, if you take the induction completely off and run open TB it sounds exactly the same, so it may just be how the intake sounds) Most people report a swirling/gurgling type noise after installing a CAI on the 96-97 f-bodies. Mine does this and im pretty sure its nothign to worry about.

If this doesn't sound like the noises you are hearing, then you might want to look into it more, but if it is just the intake, i wouldnt worry about it.

Thanks, I thought it was normal, just wasn't sure how loud it really was.

Is it worse when you first start the car, and then quietens as you drive?

        If so, it's totally normal.
