i did some investigation about the aircharger, but i have not found anybody with them. i have two questions say if i install the air charger and the slp hood would i get more hp. next why wouldn't pass smog????
the aircharger is from K&N
Is this especially made for the 3.8L? Cause i know K&N makes one for the 5.7L. Is this better than the SLP ram air? I just looked at the web site and it says that it is NOT legal to sell to an emission controlled car. So does this mean we cannot use it? Is there any way to get the aircharger?

There are two different models of this air charger. One model for the LS1 and one for our 3800. From what I interpret, they mean that it's not legal in places like California where they're emission natzi's. Here's a snip from their page:
"...NOT legal for sale or use on pollution controlled vehicles in some states..."
I don't understand why just intake can provide any problem as far as emissions are concerned. Hell, I could run without an air filter at all and be legal. Granted it wouldn't be good for my car but it'd still be legal. I noticed it has a place for the IAT sensor so that won't cause any problems.
The main things I'd like to know about this filter are if it's any better than the whisper lid. If so, I'm definitely adding this to my shopping cart. I'd like to use it with an SLP cold air kit. From what it looks like, I'd have to do a little cutting on this thing for the cold air to work with it.
Can someone please give me a link to purchase the aircharger. correct me if i'm wrong but i didnt find a link to purchase the aircharger on the K&N website.l

Oh, and DON'T use the SLP Cold-Air Kit with it, you won't see any gain, you'll butcher the K&N Kit, you'll get the filter dirty QUICKLY (trust me, I know) and you will waste your money.
I had to sell my Whisper Ram-Air Kit because of that, it made my K&N Filter BLACK in a few weeks.
It's called FIPK and it runs between $250 to $260. There are a few sites that sell them. I'm thinking about getting one myself after I get the functional nostril mod done or get a ram-air hood of some kind. I'll get mine here locally though, I have a good relationship with the local F-body speed shop and they can usually get me stuff at a discount.

Does anyone know if this is better than the SLP Ram Air kit or the Fast Toys Ram Air. Right now I have the SLP Ram Air. If the aircharger is better then i'll just sell my SLP to my bro.

I have the SLP CAI, whisper lid with K&N filter AND a functional ram air hood. I have seen gains in my hp and ET. Granted the filter does get a little more dirty but not black. I have had it for 2 months now. This is the second time that you have given bad info on the board. The other time was about my suspension kit http://www.camarov6.com/ubb/ultimate...c;f=2;t=002953

I installed the K & N Air Charger on my car. I had the whisper lid and cold air kit on my car for about a year. The cold air kit acted like a vacumm and sucked up all kinds of debris. I was constantly cleaning out the bottom of the filter housing along with debris that collected between the AC condenser and the cold air duct. I placed pics of the Air Charger on my page if anyone wants to take a look. I think the Air Charger is a much better system than the cold air kit.
