Evernham, for those of us who have the regualr hood, isn't that filter charger just going to be sucking up hot air from the engine bay?

not if you do this mod in conjunction.

it turns your stock hood into a ram air hood, so this would help out a lot. but i dont think the stock air box really gets all that cool of air either.

But what about the Camaro. I see that the functional bird nostril will probably work, but will the aircharger work well with a camaro that doesnt have an ultra z hood?

yes it will still be a good intake, i was just saying that the nostrils will get you cooler intake air than leaving it how it is. The ultra-Z hood would be a good option as well to get cooler air.

I have a K&N Aircharger, SLP Hood, Flowmaster Exhaust. With that combination the Aircharger is awesome. I started with a regular K&N Filter and a stock hood. I added the SLP Hood and added 10 HP. Then I added the Aircharger and picked up another 16 HP. I'm now at 188 RWHP with an automatic transmission.

The aircharger makes the exhaust very loud under acceleration. I'm guessing that is why they say it is not street legal. I wouldn't worry about that though, it isn't louder at highway speeds.

I would recommend that everyone should get an Air Charger. I was wondering if it would be any better than a regular K&N filter and it is way better.

think about it..... you would still be using hot air from underneath the hood. it would work, but wouldnt be as effcient as with a hood that brings in colder air.

Why will the aircharger not work in a 98 camaro?

Probably because of the angled TB.

Anyone know if the K&N AirCharger will work with the TB Spacer from ZZPerformance? If not, I'm sure I can shave some away from the AirCharger but I don't like to cut things if I don't have to.
