    yea, i was wonderin what the best setup for my car would be. i was thinkin abuot the flowmaster american thunder package, and a new cat. would i be losing too much backpressure with this system? note that i have a cai, if that affects anything.

    o, and if i did go ahead and do this, could i get the shorter cat (since its cheaper) and would all this still fit?

      A nice 2.5" system all the way back would run really well on a 3.1 V6, 3" might be a little on the large side for ya.

      Probably you'd want a nice free flowing and good sounding muffler, something not terribly loud since its a 6cyl... Being it has low displacement it will tend to not create as much backpressure in the 2.5" pipe as a 3.8L would, so you can run really anything you like for maxiumum gains. [img]smile.gif[/img]

        3 inch will cost you torque...if sould is what you are looking for...what i did in the last out from the muffler in my car was i put 3 inch out....sound deep and Throghty.not raspy

          one of the exhaust bottlenecks for V6 3rd gens is the Y-pipe. it's more of a T than a Y. go find yourself a Y-pipe from a 3.4 and slap it on.
