Why? Installation of an aftermarket cat is around $50. Its two cuts and 2 weld (or clamps if you prefer).

Factory parts are worthless unless they are body or interior pieces. Performance pieces are higher quality outside of the factory and cost less. Ei: $400 for a stock wheel from the dealer vs $99 for the SAME wheel from discount tire.

Not saying your idea is wrong just pointing out that the dealership is now worthless. There is almost zero reason to ever visit it again. Due to the year of your car though I can't tell you what headers to get lol. I can tell you, don't get headers unless you are prepared to deal with some kind of problem.

Nope, my whole EGR system works. No leaks. Its very simple to do. It just has to be done in a certain way to make it work without any leaks.

How long have you been in central AZ? Where exactly?

Pacesetters should be doing fine now. They will work for you just fine. I can address all of the previously mentioned problems though:

Spark Plugs - I can change them all from the top with a spark plug socket and a 3/4 wrench (not even a rathcet) in less than 30 minutes. A ratchet and extension is a good choice for cyl 6 though.

Bolts for y pipe - Put WASHERS on them. Not that hard. Don't need new bolts. The are designed like that so you don't warp the flanges, but I like mine really tight, so I used washers.

Gaskets - Ultra copper sealant. Thats all it takes, put a bead around each port of the paper gasket on both sides, and your done.

EGR - This one is a little harder, but it can be done without too much effort. First pull the EGR tube up and grind some of it off (not a MUST DO, but it helps it fit best. I am talke 1/4 of an inch at the most. Buy some gasket material, and ultra copper it. Done.

                UPDATE

It was not the cat. Finally got it up on a lift.

The double wall part of the Y-pipe came loose. Midas shop re-welded and the rattle is GONE. $25!!

                Dealers don't know squat!
