  • just finished the home-made lid mod

    This mod went very fast.

Tip - the first 2 ribs, I broke out a little piece at a time, and it left a lot of nubs. On the third one, I found out that the best way was to twist the rib over sideways, but don't break it all the way off, move down a couple of inches, twist again, and so on down the length of the rib. The whole rib came off in one piece and left a whole lot smoother edge in the lid.

I also tweaked on the divider in the outlet, and it snapped (which is not what I meant to do). I only wanted to remove some of the material on the lid side. So be careful with this manuever. It's still there, just cracked. I did end up removing some out of the middle of the divider, in a large V shape, with the V open to the inside of the lid. If you look up through there, holding the lid over your head, flat like it is on the filter, with your eye about where the middle of the filter would be, it looks a lot more open. Haven't heard of anyone hacking on the divider before.

Planning to run it Saturday morning at Beech Bend dragstrip in KY. Will be my first time. May try the autocross too, just for fun, while I'm there. Curious to see how it does...
