I have an exhaust rattle coming from the floorboard infront of the passenger seat (the cat area) that the repair guy at the dealership claimed is caused by my catback exhaust that doesn't even start until about 3 or 4 ft after the cat.
dealership shop guy: we can't do any repairs under warenty because your aftermarket exhaust is too big and pushed things out of the way.
me: what got moved? I don't see what is moved.
dealership guy: the pipes are larger than stock and that caused your problem
I left there thinking the guy saw the catback, decided that THAT was my problem, and didn't even check the car. I honestly don't see how the stuff around the cat could have gotten moved - it's got too many da** bolts holding it to the body to move. I KNOW the noise is coming from around the cat (somewhere within about 1 foot from it at most), but I don't know what exactly.
Should I try another dealership or what? This dealer was at home (the same one who decided that it would be a good idea to realign my passenger window when they replaced the window motor, making me go back the next day to get it to seal correctly). I'm now at school and there's atleast 2 or 3 dealers I saw in the phonebook.
I guess on a side note here - anyone from Atlanta recommend a dealer for warenty work?
This da** rattle has been annoying me for over a year now  .

EDIT: here's a previous thread I had about this problem thread - I couldn't figure out where the clamp is supposed to go exactly. maybe someone could post a picture?
