want to get ride of my cat conv

does anyone know where i can get only a y pipe for my 01 v6 3.8 camaro? i can only find a header and y pipe combo. really all i am looking for is to get ride of my cat. anyone have any ideas?

1st: Why do you want to get rid of your cat?

2nd: Why do you need a whole new y-pipe? Cut the cat out and take it to a shop and have them weld a pipe in between.

well i want to get a louder sound and i want to keep my old y pipe so that i can put it back on of emissions time. i would even take a y pipe with a cat as long as it's a high flow cat. but i want who new pipeing

Why not get a high flow cat/straight pipe and use O2 simulators? Then you wouldn't have to worry about changing anything for emmissions.

I have a high flow cat band clamped in at either end so that I can pull it out and slide in either a strait pipe or cut-out whenever I want.

i have a flowmaster american thunder exhaust system. so i need something that is gonna match up to that. so if people have idea tell me and also where i can get them and how easy it is to do?

do you have a 2.5" or 3" cat-back? Im assuming you also have the stock S-pipe?

it is a 2.5, and yes stock s pipe

I would just cut out the cat at the front weld, cut enough of the stock 'S' out to get a reducer in there and then weld in a 3" high flow cat. you are going to want to leave the 02 bungs in there or put in sims, being in Philly you are going to need to pass the OBDii code based emissions and visual inspection for a cat

isn't there anything parts that i can just buy. i want to buy somethings so that when i go to get ride of my car i can just take off the performance part and put the stock back on.

i think you could buy the slp installation kit which has an S-pipe in it, buy the high-flow cat (for emissions and swap for a strait pipe), and then clamp it in. im not sure I would spend that much to do it though, and it will probably take a little bit of fab work anyway.
