    Looks good.

What all came with the K&N FIPK? Does it come with the elbow? I tried to order one today at the local auto shop and the catalog stopped at '95 3.4L. Is there a 3.8L specific one or is the 3.4L one the same?

The FIPK is only designed for the 3.4, but is easily adapted to the 3.8L if you aquire the elbow from an LT1.

Does he/she like it? I plan to get one soon.

Hey I see in your sig you have the same car as me, what does removing MAF screen do? And how do you do it?

The MAF screen is in front of the MAF sensor right at the front of the Throttle body, this is in place to straighten air out mostly at idle right before it passes over the MAF sensor... it's supposed to help smoothe the idle out is all I can figure. Well it is believed that it restricts the intake by about 150 CFM. All you do is take off the intake and you'll see this honeycomb-like screen, you need to pop off a ring that is in front of the screen to keep it in. Then using a pin or some small pliers you pull the screen out... it has to come out straight as it's too wide to just pull out one side then the other.

It will produce a slightly rougher idle, some people don't like it, others do. It's really personal preference. All I get is a slight vibration at idle... My last car was an '84 V8 Firebird, this vibration is nothing compared to that.

What it did for performance is let it rev more freely, it probably picked me up 5 Hp... I get a slight sucking sound from the intake, and a slightly louder exhaust note. Personally I like it. But you'll find out when you do it, just be careful with the screen if you don't like how the car drives afterward as they are kind of expensive. You should drive it about 100 miles so the computer has time to adjust before you make the decision.

I modified an elbow from a 3.4l. The K&N FIPK made a very noticable difference. My friend loves it! We also changed the rearend, took one out of a 2000 Firebird w/3.42's & LSD and put in his car. It originally had 3.08's, we even changed it over to disc brakes. Changed the exhaust and waiting on the new headers to come out. Next looking at a stall and NOS.
