Hey I was wondering does anyone have dyno proven results of a catback exh before/after, if so how much HP/TQ did you gain&what size was it 2.5/2.75/full 3"? I know this subject has been beat to DEATH but I have a popluar hot rodding mag that has an artical called the joy of sixx&features the B&B tri flo for our 3.8's it states in their article that they picked up a SOLID+13HP&+14TQRW with the full 3" mandrel bent system they didn't have any intake mods/headers/high flow cat etc with just the exhaust they claim those gains! Now this brings us to the topic are they us with the power gains, does anyone believe PHR would do that? I'm confused&angry that most people say full exh is only worth 5-10HP brand from brand that's BS according to like every mag article covering exh they all state that brand doesn't affect power much, assuming you know same size same mandrel bent etc, only difference brand to brand would be sound right? So why don't exhaust live up to their power claims? Sorry if this pisses anyone off oh yah the year/month of that article page etc PHR AUGUST/1999 PG 90 if anyone cares to check it out for themselves

I don't have any dyno info, but i am quite sure that FULL exhaust is worth more than 5-10hp., even in our cars. ;)

That article, including the B&B dyno sheets are on my site:

One problem here, the V6 system is 2.5" not 3". So either the article is wrong, or they really did use a 3" system.Robert - owner www.FirebirdV6.com/CamaroV6.com

Plus that article is only for the cat-back right? My exhaust guy said that the headers would open up a noticable amount of hp b/c thats where a lot of restriction is. Just a thought.

I thought headers were only good for 3 horses over stock manifold something, doesn't sound like a lot of restriction in that case...
...unless they were talking about the 00+ tubular manifolds instead of the pre 00 stock manifolds.1998 3.8 Camaro A4,
B&B Triflow CatBack,Whisper Lid,
1987 s10 Blazer 350 V8 shift kit,

i would guess they were talking about 00+, b/c the stock manifolds on my car are VERY restrictive. As far as actual hp gains, i'm not sure cause i have no dyno #'s to prove it. I was thinking about getting headers w/ my tax return so i could see myself, but now i think i may get an SS hood. :D
So many decisions. :D
