I agree with 99Camaro all the way: a 3.8 doesn't sound like a 4 cyliner: there isn't a ricey sound really... BTW Magic, sounds great, really like it

There isn't that much of a "Honda" sound. Take it all the way to red line and it's a much deeper sound.

Everyone is asking how to get rid of it? Here's your answer, get a V8. All 3.8s will sound like that and there's nothing to do about it. I just feel Flowmasters and Dynomax help rid that sound the best. Dynomax mellows it like an exotic and Flows just deepens it. IMO, I don't care for how the other mufflers (except Borla) deal with the topend. Enough said...

No the anwser is not "get a V8", it is get a CAM. That will take care of that nasty sound up top. BTW my ravin sounds better up top and about the same down low.

Cam would help a bit, but it's still no V8 up top. I've heard the Ravin before and IMO it sounded the crappiest on topend. Reminded me of a chainsaw. Sorry...IMO the only good mufflers for the 3.8 are Dynomax, Flowmaster, Edelbrock, and Borla. Of course all the extras help e.g. Headers, Cam, Hi-Flo cat, Catback, and ear wax. Hope this helps.

the biggest change you will hear is from bigger pipes. I have 2.5" and lost that honda sound from my flow 80.

I never said it will sound like an 8, but will be pretty close to it. I have to get you guys an updated clip of my ravin, it sounds really good now once you lit it burn in.

you guys need to forget about the sound and worry about the performance your exhaust has.

I like sound too, but performance is ultimately more important. Well said...

lol...each muffler is probably within .5-2hp (flywheel) if you were to think of every muffler possible and test them. Plus on our V6s with our limited power you aren't going to feel/see much of a difference at all. BTW, I swtiched from Dynomax (the free flowing exhuast) to Flowmaster (the supposed restrictive one) and I've seemed to gain some low-end torque back, yet still retaining the same topend power. Go for the sound when ya pick a muffler for the 3.8
