Really dumb question

is there any point to get like a nice flowmaster muffler or some other brand and keep stock piping and not replace it with 3 inch, i hear i wouldnt get a good sound, im doing this more for a nice growl then performance?? Seems cheap but for now im really broke. Thanks.

If you're not looking for performance, then just replacing the muffler will give you a louder sound. I know many people who only replace the muffler in order to get a louder growl. Make sure to get a good performance muffler and that you have a good idea what sound you are looking for before buying. You will get minimal performance increase, however you need to go with a cat-back if you want anything really noticable (performance wise).

OK so say i wanted to get a flowmaster 80 series and keep the stock pipes just for a little better sound, is it just an easier install or are the pipe sizes different on the flow and my stock pipes. Oh yeah can i keep my tips too?? The are the upgraded ones from the W68 package, they look to be removable when i checked it out??
