Not really worried about the sound, what will give me peak performance....the best flow. Would a Flomaster 80 Series cat back system with 2.75 pipe starting at the cat to the muffler and back, and then 2.75 exit, work the best. Im keeping my stock cat, after that i want to know what would be the best performance wise system?
Also what is the difference between the Flomaster 80 series muffler and the Flow. 80 Series catback? Whats better Muffler or catback?

flowmaster cat back is replacing the whole exhaust system from the cat. converter, the fm muffler would just be the muffler. i personally plan on getting the cat back exhaust in the jc whitney catalog that is 139.99, a guy in here has it and he really likes it. its made for the 3.4 but ive been told it will also fit the 3.8. the muffler has a straight-through design which supposedly flows very well, but might sound a tad ricey (?) for the price im definitely going with it! i know a lot of guys on here swear by the flowmaster 80 series muffler. from what i can tell its almost impossible for our cars to not sound raspy at high rpms.
So far the most hp and tq gained on the dyno was from bb tri flow.
13 rwhp and 14 rwtq which is unreal!!!
I've only met one other v6 owner who had it and that was ages ago.
It sounds sweet also.
Way too expensive for me though

In my experience, the Dynomax Super Turbo is one of the best flowing mufflers! ...but it's really quiet. I know it has a lot of support on here too.

Due to the fact we do not flow 8,000,000cfm of air through our 3.8L's, more like 350-400max, most all aftermarket exhausts will be within 0.5hp of each other.
You simply need to choose based upon cost/looks/buyer satisfaction/sound.
yes the Dynomax is one of the best flowing...and because of that it's too quiet.
I figured screw it, dumped the Dynomax and got the Flowmaster 80 series. It's much louder and I wasn't looking for any power gains but it looked like I got some low-end torque back...maybe it's because the Flows are so restrictive and I got more backpressure!?!?!
