• RAM AIR or No RAM AIR

hi,

i was wondering if i should go with a RAM AIR intake for my 95 3.4L V6 camaro. i've got the pic up off the start, but when i get up around 3rd and 4th gear i start to feel a slow in acel. i know, i'm kinda expecting more out of my 3.4 but still, i wanna get the top end acel up. do you know what i mean?

also, for an exhaust, how much would a flowmaster 40s cat-back cost? would it be wise to use flowmaster?

thanks,
John

Well a full catback will help, it'll help you free up some of that exhaust and open up your power band a bit.

My car used to cr@p out around 5k or so, now its shifting up to 6k and it still wants to pull. I noticed a huge increase in the upper rpms as soon as the intake/exhaust was put on.

Not sure if ram air will help ya that much, you have to be going pretty fast to get that air to be forced in there to the point your going to feel it. Might wanna get a cold air intake and kinda jimmy rig a ram air setup w/ some sort of scoup on it. I did something like that but i took it off cause it would always scratch pulling into a gas station or drive way.

Good luck

I gotta say that with my ram air kit, I notices a big difference not only at high speeds, but off the line too....More air is good, no matter what speed you are going. Go for it.

The big thing about the 3.4L is that the heads are choked. Thats the main reason it tends to give out on the top end.

As for RAM air the RAM effect is negligable so you'd probably be better off just getting a CAI.
