• my exhaust setup and review!!!!

ok since i have a new setup i'm going to shed some light on this new setup. this is my 3rd exhaust system and i'm very pleased with the setup.

i still have the stock manifolds, i don't believe in spending 500 bucks for headers with not so good gains.

    from there i have a 3inch cat(catco) 3inch s-pipe(mandrel bent) and i have the elebrock 3inch cat-back..

now on the elebrock cat-back the i-pipe is not 3in. i think it's 2.5. anyway i have the exhaust shop install a 2.75. i'm very pleased with this setup and it's sounds awesome.. my system looks very clean and professional. i also have a cutout mounted in the middle of my i-pipe..

i'm going to try to take some pictures of this setup...

the reason i think this works so well for me is because i'm runing a 3200 stall converter and when i flash the converter i lose no lowend torque..

the topend is very responsive. the car use to lag going from 80-100 mph, but now it pulls nice and steady.

when i'm on the n20 (100 wet shot) my car feels like a whole new car.. it hits very, very hard. :D

feel free to ask me questions!! ;)

3200 stall convertor, where did you get it, how much total cost for install and the converter? Anything bad about getting something this high of a stall???

      haha--my stall is 3600...

why don't you read some stuff in the drivetrain section? there is something labled "3400+ IS TOO MUCH STALL FOR OUR CARS" or something like that--just go look and see for yourself.

and btw, if you are too lazy to look, NO there are no drawbacks in a high stall unless you go so high that you are out of your peak torque range.

no i love my stall converter, when i'm driving normal i can't even tell it's there, but when i romp it, i KNOW it's there :D .

i have nothing bad to say about a converter over 3000, i wish i had a bigger one.

when i'm at the track, i hold the rpm's at 1600, then i let off the brake and floor it. this is ehere i get the "flash" from and the car jumps off the line.. i was able to cut a 1.9 60ft on street tires with 35 psi in the tires.. ;)

price was 500 bucks and install with tranny cooler and corvette servo and transgo was 250 bucks :D

Congrats. Exhuast is the best mod when using nitrous.

I still have the best sounding 3.8 Exhaust.

I think only4u should read the title again, maybe closer. It doesnt say 3400+ IS to much, what it says is, Is 3400+ to much on a v6. I didnt post that to say ha ha 3400+ is to big for a v6, I only postd it to see what everyones opinion on the matter was, i figured it would have been a vey informative post. I wasnt trying to start a pi**ing match :(

                      um...guys...

firstly, there is no hate in my replies. secondly:

quote:
Anything bad about getting something this high of a stall???

i was trying to make him realize that this topic was just discussed TO DEATH not more than a day ago.

thirdly, in that post about 3400+ being too much i went on to tell you why i thought it was not too much, i didn't criticize you at one point saying i thought you were dumb for thinking that. you go quote every line i said that sounded like a "hate" line and then i'll believe you.

i don't understand why you guys think it was a pissing match--i seem to have helped a lot of people out with info they wanted.

cboney--you ASKED if there was a problem with high-stall converters. i answered, no hate intended.

guys don't need to get your panties in a wad--get whatever the hell you want to get as far as stall goes and as far as company goes. i'm just trying to help the ignorant of you that don't understand much about converters so that you'll know what you need or what's right for you. it would really depress me if i had bought a 2800 stall converter and then i found edge converters that are cheap and wonderful--and i learned what stall is good for our cars.

i know i sound like an *** , and i AM NOT calling you guys ignorant, especially since most people take that word as a cut-down. but that word means that some of you people just don't understand the concept of certain things...i know there is a LOT more for me to learn about converters, i'm not trying to say i am the converter GOD!!! but i do know enough that i think will help you guys out.

sorry for sounding like a jackass in any post, but i mean no hate or harm...i'm just trying to help. keep in mind that expression is hard to create when typing and also keep in mind that i am a very friendly person in real life, so my sense of humor seems to have the best of me, on words and in real life :D
