  • RKSport header gaskets on the block

    Just checking something here...

I was always under the impression that the RKSport paper gaskets between the block and the primaries are fine, it's the ones between the primaries and the Y-pipe that are the problem. Right? I never had any problems with mine and I've never heard anything bad about them...

I agree that I think the paper gaskets are fine.
Where the problem would occur is if you over-tighten one side and the other is loose...then it would crack or tear.
If all the bolts are tightened evenly they'll be fine.
As for the gasket between the the Y and the headers I dont know...I have pacesetter and its just a ball-joint...I did have to use additional spacers because of a lack of thread. It worked perfectly after that though.

I do remember some people having to weld the Y-Pipe together with the Primaries to stop leaking.

Maybe you got a good set, or some people have had a faulty installation, causing them to leak.
