  • Replacing cat and s-pipe questions

I've finally decided to replace my stock cat with a carsound one and buy/make a 3" s-pipe so everything is 3" except my y-pipe which I'm not changing because it comes with FFF's turbo kit that I plan to buy in the future. So my questions are:

    1. The Carsound/Magnaflow cats on ebay go for $55-$59 but they don't include 02 bungs? Should I be able to just reuse my old ones or is it best to just let the exhaust shop worry about it?

    2. Is the SLP 30045 LT1 exhaust adapter kit for the Loudmouth systems 3" on both ends or does it expand to match the 3" end on the LM? I was thinking about just doing the 2 45* bend pipes like some of you have done, but I'd rather have a pre-made stainless steel part to match the quality of the rest of my system.

    3. Will I throw a code with this setup?

    1) a competent exaust shop shuld be able to handle it..

    2) I would get a 3" u-bend from jegs, get the shop to cut it in half and make an s-pipe.. again.. copetent exhaust shop is key.. contact them and tell them exaclty what you plan to do, and make sure they are cool with it..

    3) sources say yes.. maybe not at first.. but eventualy you will get one.. however, hopefully I will get this whole SIM thing worked out in a few more weeks.. then it may no longer be an issue..

The 30045 is 3" at both ends. It is flared at the catalytic converter end for the flange on the stock converters.
