SLP Ultra Z Intake Question

I have a 1996 V6 3.8 Camaro. I have just gotten an Ultra Z hood painted and put on my car. The web site www.slp.com has the intake made for this hood. When you look at the description of this item it says it will fit 3.8 and 5.7 engins. After i placed my order they informed me that it was a typo and it only fits the 5.7. I figured that the intkae spot is identical to the 3.8 as the 5.7. I know this i measured. I called SLP to ask them y it would not fit. They said it will not bolt on properly? Is this BS? Does anyone have an Ultra Z Hood on their 3.8 with the intake? If not does anyone know if it will work (getting the intake and putting it with the 3.8)? i know the hoseing will be differnt, that im well aware, but whats this not bolting on properly thing? Can anyone help me?

It will bolt on fine to the upper radiator shroud. As far as piping from that box to your TB, I can't tell ya.

I have the same setup on my 1993 (SLP Ultra Z Hood and Airbox) and it works fine.

you got pics of that hood on your car?

btw, im guessin you could work out some tubing to the TB from the airbox. it cant be too hard
