what do you guy's think about this? ported heads and bigger valves
Im going to install the zzp VS cam soon and was thinking since I will be so far into the engine I should get the heads ported aswell. The machine shop said he could do bigger valves, pocked porting and install my LS1 valve springs for about $700.
I can't decide if I should do it or not.
Do you think its worth it or no?
Thanks for your input

Excuse my ignorance. My knowledge of performance mods doesn't really exend much further then bolt on type mods. What is a "3 Angle" valve job? What performace gains does it net?

larger valves wont give you ANY gains if the bore is stock. they will jsut be shrouded too hell because you are jsut putting the valves closer too the sides of the head. there wont be room for the air too flow freely. this is why i stay with stock sized valves and then blend the cc around the outer portions of the valve. and then when i do the valvejob, it gives room all aroudn the valve so it will flow well!

I dont get how giving air more room to flow wont let it flow freely can you explain your reasoning a little more clearly please?
Distephano
the 3 angle valve job is when you gring the edges of the valve to round them off a little so air can move pass more freely around the valve into the cylinder
