I finally got some leave time after christmas and returned home to pick up my car and finish installing all the parts I've collected while I was deployed. Among the parts to be installed were my whisper lid, SLP loudmouth, CIA's, Catco 3" cat, and 3" cutout.
The header install was a PIA, but well worth it. I'm very glad that I paid the extra money and got the CIA's. I've never seen another set such as the pacesetters or RKsport for comparison, but to me they were worth every penny.
My biggest disappointment came when installing the 3" cutout. That sucker is huge and we tried everything we could at the exhaust shop to keep from loosing much ground clearance but still lost an inch... Very Loud when she's uncapped too...
The loudmouth install was pretty straight forward and my exhasut guy was a real pro. (I love the mom & pop shops that let you into the garage freely to watch whats going on!) It took a little time getting her lined up but he only charged me for minimal labor (my family brings alot of automotive business his way). She's loud though, and sounds mean!!!
The whisper lid was straight forward install. had to improvise a gasket from the old IAT sensor boot, but she's snug now.
After the install, the car got drove around Tennessee for 5 days while I was on leave. Afterwards, the new exhaust/intake system got a complete break in during her 2700 mile trip across country from Nashville, TN to Seattle, WA. Although I love the sound of that exhaust, she can get really annoying after 4 days of her constant growl. But around town she's great!!!
My only problem thus far, is I think I've got a small exhaust leak somewhere under the hood. A couple of days ago, I accidentally heard the cutout hit when I was pulling into a McDonalds parking lot and I started hearing the tell-tale high-pitch rasping shortly afterwards. I haven't gotten underneath her yet to check it out, but I hope it's a rather simple fix...
Anyway, I give positive evaluations to the Loudmouth, cutouts, CIA coated headders, and whisper lids!
