  • Header gasket part number

I went to have the stud removed today and when they removed the header their was a big circular rip in the gasket, so they made a chinsey set out of some gasket paper called Ultra Steel, actually looked like some pretty good stuff but they didnt have enough to make one solid gasket so they made it in sections and my drivers side is ticking like a mofo.
I went around to all the stores to try and find header gaskets and none of them had any, stock or felpro. Do any of you have the part numbers for the Fel-pro ones, or even the stock GM ones.
I called a Chevrolet dealership and asked for stock manifold gaskets and he said they dont stock them(WTF).
    Thanks,
    Shane

they shaved down the inside of the EGR tube on the headers so that it fit in perfectly, then out of the old gasket we made an EGR gasket and threw on a nut and bolt, vice gripped the top and torqued it down so Im pretty sure that its the headers, I wont rule it out but it would be my second guess.

Using a section of PVC pipe, hold one end up to your ear and move the other end around the headers/egr/etc until you find the leak. It makes it really easy to pinpoint exactly where it's coming from. I know my EGR is leaking real bad right now. Car sounds like a go-kart. I ordered the ZZP EGR Blockoff Plate, so hopefully that'll fix it.

Yeah I have a section of tube that I use. I wanted to mention the thing that the shop used to get the stud out also, it was such a livesaver, he said it was made by snap-on but they discontinued them. It was kind of cone at one end and one shaped with an end to put a wrench on, he found the size of the stud and matched it with this tool hammered it on and twisted it a little, hammered it some more and twisted a little, and continued this until it came out.
I was so happy, until we couldnt find a set of gaskets.
Do I need to buy different studs, or are the ones supplied with the headers reusable?
                Thanks

Do you guys think that the felpro gaskets plus some permatex high-temp ultra copper RTV silicone gasket maker will do the job?
                    Thanks
