I wish there was more competition, but unfortunatly there is not. I wish there was someone else out there that made decent headers for close to the price pacesetter is, if there was I would STRONGLY suggest to any person to get those.

I personaly, am going to take a shot at bending out the "Y" of the Y-pipe, the amount I need. I *think* i should be able to pull it off with out wrecking the coating, or any welds, if I do the pulls in the right places.
I can take pictures of mine and email them to you if you want, you can see how mine was bent. Let me know if you do...

I do not think they would do that, but who knows. Fred is only a phone call away...

The extensions will NOT be weled. They will be CLAMPED. You will cut off the old pipe, the new one will slip over it, and then you will use a clamp to attach it.

Your coating didn't get messed up at all huh? Tbe Tech told me there was "A guy in Texas" who had his bent, and it came out good.

Did you just "force" them in? What time and money that you spent correcting it?

If it doesnt fit it doesnt fit, so no I did not just force them in. Car had to sit for 3 days because it did not have a ypipe on it and I took it to a shop and they charged me 120 bucks to do it. This has all been discussed in previous threads.

Once I get off today, I'll see if I can get a decent picture for you, without lifting teh car. If I can't I'll have to get it for to tomorrow or Saturday. I usually work fairly late, but I see what I can do about getting it for you tonight.

i just emailed pacesetter, the company i ordered thm from, and the person i talked to while my headers were in back order to see if i could find out if my headers are flawed too. do you guys know of any way i could see if they dont fit right without actualy putting them on cause i dont have any way to do it for awhile and i want to get this taken care of before any warranty or something goes out.

Short of putting them on, I don't think there is a way to tell.

Yes, I got mine around May 4th.

The Problem is not the Y-Pipe, it is the headers themselves. From what I got out of it, the things that held the header tubes and the plate they get welded to, didn't hold them tight enough, so they got weleded out of spec.

The reason they are making changes to the Y-Pipe, is because it will allow for the greatest range of adjustment, allowing them to keep being sloppy with their welding. :(

As for the RK sport headers. If they have the flange problem corrected so they don't leak, then Yes, I'd go with those over the Pacesetters.

The way I personaly feel now is, there is not a decent priced header system for our cars, that is made nice.

Sloppy, instead of correcting the sloppyness, they made adjustments to the Y-Pipe to allow for it.</font>
                                • RK Sport
They leak from the factory, have to have mods made to stop this.</font>
                                • CAI
(Or is it CIA... I forget) Too damn expensive. There are other things I'd put that much money into first.</font>

So, if I had it to do over, I think I would have put my $225 into other things, like a Z28 rear end or a shifter and some other little goodies.
