i emailed pacesetter and told them that i got mine from the group purchase and said i havent installed them yet. i told them that u can either send me the part just incase i do have problems or they can take on the expense of reinstalling my exhaust manifolds if they were actually short. I also, told them that i cannot wait around for the part. So i got an email back today telling me that they will send me the part

since there is so many problems with this y pipe, why not throw a H-pipe on there it would make it sound cleaner any way...but out of curiousity is there any performance gains from putting an h pipe on as opposed to a y?

So everyone who has the headers can request this part for free?

Well everyone, I took matters into my own hands, as I didn't want to cut up my Y Pipe. After cranking out idea after idea, my Dad and I settled on a plan. We took a nice sized block of wood (roughly 4" cube) and drilled a 2 1/4" diameter hole in the center of it. We next cut the block in half, cutting the hole in the center of the block in half.

What we did, is create a Jig to hold the Y-Pipe, so we could clamp the pipe in the vice and not crush the tube of the Y-Pipe. After looking at Linxs' pictures, and see how my pipe would need to be changed to fit, we decided to take a different approach to bending the pipe. Instead of bending the pipe in the middle, we decided to just open the bend at the end of the driver side of the Y-Pipe a few degrees. So, we clamped the very end of that side of the pipe, in the jig, in the vice. We clamped it so the rest of the Y-Pipe was going side ways. Then we had Me, my Dad and my Brother all pull on the pipe. After a few minutes of really pulling on the thing, and a few breaks to test fit, we finaly got it to fit just perfect.

So screw you Pacestter, I'm not cutting up my Y-Pipe, and I didn't pay to have a shop do it.

I'll post pics a big later tonight, right got my engine hanging from the chain hoist right now, I'm changing the rear main.

I think only if you have fitment problems. I can see no real reason why you'd want it otherwise, as it means cutting up your Y Pipe.

Then wait for a week with my car down while it gets here. I'd rather have that piece here incase I do need it. If I don't, I can toss it.

Seeing how you were able to bent it, I might try that too. I'll drive up there and have you do it if I can't.

Ahhh. I thought you already had them installed. Thats why I couldn't figure out why you would want the piece.
