  • SLP Gains?

    Hi I am an all new '96 Maro owner. I was wondering if anyone knows the actual increase in HP that the SLP gives you? Also was it difficult to install?

    What are you talking about?

    SLP Cold Air Intake? SLP Exhaust?

    SLP is a brand, not an abbreviation for a specific modification.

      I think he means the SLP CAI since this is the first mod most of us do.
      I don't have hard dyno numbers of HP increase but you should feel a little more power when you hit the gas.
      As for the install it's not too tough you should be able to do it yourself.
      Try doing a search on this board there's tons of info on the subject.

          The hardest part is getting that little rubber crap that holds the IAT out of the original intake. After that it's a breeze. Be sure to take out the bottom plastic part which is under the turn signal. It's connected to the body if I remember correctly but it's way easier then taking off the wheel well. To put the filters on you need to get them as tight as possible to slip them on. So you don't want to get them too tight because obviously they won't go on. But once you get them on get a little screwdriver in there and tighten them up as much as you can. Also, for the filters to get air its a good idea to cut a hole in that plastic part that you took off which would be right under the filters. I'd say you should feel around 5 RWHP with this mod, give or take a few. When you get exhaust you'll probably notice a decent more increase.
