Those filters are just like K&N's. They can be cleaned and re-oiled in the same manner.

If it were me checking the filters. Personally I would hold them up to the sky and see if I could see any light out of it. If not maybee take an air gun and blow the dirth out. If it's a K&N type or you know it has to be re-oiled try that. If all hope is lost check out some new filters. 6 months shouldn't be too bad but they are probably considerably dirty.

How Often do you all clean your K&N's?
I assumed it was A LOT longer than 6 months. I mean i'm all for a clean air filter but it's really a pain in the a** to get to that thing underneath the front guard.
Just wondering, mine is only about 2 1/2 months right now 2001 Camaro Z28 (A4) Sunset Orange Metallic w/ T-tops, Monsoon Stereo, factory GFX, BMR STB from the v6, 18K miles
2001 Camaro Z28

Dads car: 2002 35th aniv. well if you have the !FRA mod or anything else that cuts the hole in the bottom of the box (e.g. FTRA, CAI) then I suggest you clean it every 8-12mo because it will get dirty FAST. However if you don't have what I stated in the above or if you have a 93-97 w/o the lid setup, you should be good for about 20K miles or so before cleaning it.

I have the !FRA mod and I checked my air filter and it was all dirty on just the one half. Instead of cleaning the whole thing I just turned it around. :D
redcamaro, just turn it around. - JT3
1998 Red V6 Camaro Y87 Y3F - J.E.T.
