• When to change air filters?

When should I change or clean my air filters? I installed it about 6 months ago and was just wondering when I should. Thanks

Those filters are just like K&N's. They can be cleaned and re-oiled in the same manner.

changing air filters...

oh yeah that's that nearly obsolete duty of upkeeping the car!

god bless K&N airfilters and K&N's brothers

If it were me checking the filters. Personally I would hold them up to the sky and see if I could see any light out of it. If not maybee take an air gun and blow the dirth out. If it's a K&N type or you know it has to be re-oiled try that. If all hope is lost check out some new filters. 6 months shouldn't be too bad but they are probably considerably dirty.

How Often do you all clean your K&N's?
I assumed it was A LOT longer than 6 months. I mean i'm all for a clean air filter but it's really a pain in the a** to get to that thing underneath the front guard.

Just wondering, mine is only about 2 1/2 months right now

well if you have the !FRA mod or anything else that cuts the hole in the bottom of the box (e.g. FTRA, CAI) then I suggest you clean it every 8-12mo because it will get dirty FAST. However if you don't have what I stated in the above or if you have a 93-97 w/o the lid setup, you should be good for about 20K miles or so before cleaning it.

I clean mine about once every 3 months or right before I go to the track which ever comes first.

I have the !FRA mod and I checked my air filter and it was all dirty on just the one half. Instead of cleaning the whole thing I just turned it around. :D

redcamaro, just turn it around.

I did that several times w/ my stock filter :-D

Just picked the cleanest side, hehe

Nothing wrong w/ doing it, why waste oil on your filter when only half it is dirty?
