What are the signs of an exhaust leak? I've been hearing a weird almost hiss type noise recently, and today when I drove it, I was hearing some metal tinny sound when I'd accelerate.. My girlfriend said it sounds like its coming from below the console towards her side, right where the cat is. It's hard to tell what kind of noise it is or where its coming from cause I cant hear it all the time over my exhaust and typical road noise. I haven't really tested this but it seems to only happen when the car is under load, not at idle. Any easy sure fire way to find out if its a leak?

I had the same thing, mine was caused by the crappy flowmaster clams though, I had it welded and that fixed everything. Try getting under the car and hitting the exhaust with a rubber mallet. That's what I used to narrow down where the dingity ding was coming from.

Easy way to see if there is a leak is to jack your car up and hold your hand near the exhaust pipes and move aroudn (without touchign it!!!!!) and see if you feel any air. If you hear a hissing sound you probably have a leak...infact thats all that it could probably be.
