  • Exhaust,,, just can't decide- i'm going crazy here

I know you guys are tired of all my posts on getting a new cat-back exhaust, but i'm gonna post one last one cause i'm getting desperate.

I have a '95 3.4 camaro and trying to pick the system a want has been a lot harder than i anticipated.

Everywhere i check on the internet (for 3.4L) either has:
(1)cat-backs that members of this board seem to be strongly against (i.e. magnaflow)

(2)cat-backs recommended for 3.8s and 5.7s (3" pipe from cat, which i am concerned about) or

    (3) Prices are way to high compared to what others say they paid.

I'm looking to spend around $400 dollars and performance and sound are both an issue (Performance has priority, but i would love a great sound). I want 2.5" pipe from the cat (or 2.75 max)-mandrel bent of course; with a good performance muffler (flowmaster80 and dynomax seem to be most popular but other suggestions are welcome, and nice tips (maybe ~ 3.5").

Is there a site on the net to find a system like this (taylored towards the 3.4 - cause i can't find it if there is); or can i buy these parts individually or on the web or even at a muffler shop for a reasonable price? I would rather buy the entire system together for obvious reasons. Is there a good cat-back w/ the above specs anywhere? If so, please..where? Remember around $400 is my budget right now.

Don't think i could live with that much noise. Besides, i got emissions to think about around here for a little longer..lol Plus i never get to a track in this area (unfortunatly), i just like to race around town.. so i want something i can just leave alone and not have to switch.

Any other help & cat-back suggestions guys?
I really am ready to buy now; just want the right thing.

So is that a full cat-back, or just the muffler?

I've heard a lot of talk about the flowmaster 80 series and 40 series, etc., which are the mufflers, but I'm not familiar with the name you mentioned.

P.S. How much does it go for? ($)

I like the flow 40. The other day my brother wanted to take it for a spin and I stood by. I was afraid of how it'd sound, the Delta makes it quieter on the inside so I thought at around 2000 rpms it'd have that honda sound that it does from inside. But it sounded nice. It shifted into second gear and then he had to slow for the stop light. Even though he wasn't able to floor it, he did get it up past 2000 rpms. Standing behind, it sounded more like a little brother to the classic muscle cars than I'd thought. I couldn't say the same had he got into the high rpms.

Like they say, go to a meeting and listen to some other 3.8 maro exhausts. I wish I had, just to hear what a Flow 80, or Dyno, etc sound like, maybe they sound better, I don't know. Most Camaros and Mustangs around here still have stock exhaust systems,

Its not blowmaster, its FlowBas**** Jeez, get it right, kidding.
