Yeah, I wish the SLP hood had some heat extractors also. When I saw Mecham for the first time, I liked it for a full 30 seconds. I don't know what it is, but the extractors on that hood look kinda...I don't know. It breaks up the nice lines of the car. Kinda goofy looking. But, you wouldn't have a hood that looks like everyone else's though. I can't believe I ever liked the WS6 hood either.
I'm gonna stick with my plan to buy the SLP hood. It's a little more subtle.
Back to topic. The Mecham hood may be a tad bit more beneficial because of the heat extractors.

The air extractors are plenum fed. So the rain doesn't just dump on top of the engine.
Of course, they aren't half as effective like that either. The plenum looks like it actually opens before the engine.
The nostrils in the front are smaller than the raptor hood. All in all, the mecham is more for looks than functionality.
The SLP hood has the biggest nostrils of them all, nothing understated about it imo. I like the raptor, I would like a slightly different mecham. If I had 1k in my hand to go buy a hood right now, it would likely be the raptor -- after I checked to make sure I couldn't have one made custom for that much.

The GTR was designed to compete favorably with the factory WS6 Trans Am and SLP Firehawk. From the fully functional extractor hood and high down force wing, to the exhaust and ram air enhancements, the GTR provides both stunning appearance and excellent performance at an outstanding price.
