How much of a sound difference will it make putting a cutout right before the cat (only open when I want to be really noisy :D ) rather than on the I-pipe?? Not worried about performance b/c the cutout is just for fun and will not be open when running the car usually. I want it to be very loud, but is there any risk involved in having it that far up the exhaust system?

If you had it open for an extremely long time you could possibly burn an exhaust valve.

Only if cold air gets into it.

Also my car is faster with my cut out open.

you wont burn an exhaust valve...its far enough back that air wont be able to get back to the exhaust valves...
