i put on my borla cat back a few weeks ago and the damn tips look like ****.. they appear to be sagging and some what crooked
i took them off and put them back on yesterday but they still look all weird.. and they rattle a little bit too some times... anyone know where the problem may be? is that just how they are? do i have to jack the car up and start over?
\'02 firebird 5spd manual (pewter)<br />mods: whisper lid, spintech muffer with 3\" piping, strut tower brace, \"free ram air\", k&n filter, SLP CAI - next mods: jetchip stage II, lowering springs
What I did is made some custom hangers to pull my tips up about a half inch. After I straightened the tips I tightened the bolts as much as I could so they wouldn't vibrate crooked. The rattle is the bolt on flange looking peice that is adjustable, the tip of it vibrates against the stack hangers, what i did was get a piece of rubber tube about the same size as the hanger and glued onto the stock hanger. I glued it down with some strong *** glue. The custom tip hanger material I used was conveyor belt material its strong and its rubbery. Marked it up with a pencil and took the drill to it.
I'll post a pic this afternoon.

Here is kinda what it looks like. Hope it helps. Yea that tip got vibrated loose, but I straightened it back up. That's the only tip that seems to vibrate loose and get crooked.
