when my mod list was very young i ran a 15.5 at 86 mph consistently. then with only a cutout added and open i ran a 15.5 at 88 mph consistently. all i ever got from my cutout was 2 mph faster but never better ETs. this is with my cutout before the cat.

I witnessed toast drop .2 seconds off his ET today at the track with the cutout uncapped. From a 15.3 to a 15.1. It almost looks like from the results posted that pre-2000 camaros/firebirds with the wraparound manifolds don't perfrom as well with the cutout as the 2000+ cars with the tubulars... Just what it looks like IMO, I may be wrong.

After looking at my cutout I was thinking what prevents the exhaust from stil going straight through the pipe and to the muffler when the cutout is open? Will it all go out through the cutout when it's open?2000 Z28 M-6
Loudmouth, TSP Lid, MAF Ends
330 rwhp

Gerry, your sig says you have a Hooker Catback. Which dyno did you have this on?
Great #s though. You have a strong 01, just watch that oil consumption.

I had it on the second dyno but do you think it the cutout was open it was making much of a difference back there? I dont think so. :D
Thanks for the compliments, and I have yet to have any problems with piston slap or the oil crap, knock on wood.

Yea, it is right before the rear axle. The only reason why it is there is because there is no room anywhere eles to put it.2004 Dodge Dakota 3.7 litres of raw power!!
Nothing but a 6!
Do you know for sure? John 3:18

I've seen on the electric cutouts where you can adjust the opening at any point from fully closed to fully open and anywhere in between. If it's partially open will it basically not be so loud? I just wonder how much it changes the exhaust sound when it's partially open. Seems like cover plates could be made with partial openings that would achieve the same thing if it did. Obviously not looking for performance gains, just want to change the sound of the v6 honda sounding exhaust without over doing it.

Not being mean, but James results are not typical. Remember his fuel tables are altered. A stock pcm'd car should show positive results uncapped.Keith - 99 'maro - White M5 - bumpstick and boltons - 13.65 @ 101 N/A
