well I dont know anything at all about exhaust.. but I do know for a fact im gonna get a set of Pacesetter Headers..
and some sort of cat back..
anyone got any suggestions.. Im open to any options.. and if you got a soung clip that would be great! its gonna be on a 95 Firebird.. so let me know please..
3.4 or 3.8?
also i just totaled up my exhaust at $1218.22 so what are you looking at doing? full 3? i also cannot do a soundclip. but as a suggestion if your running this setup dont get the edelbrock. it sounded so awesome when i got it but it mellowed down alot and i think its too quiet.(but not quiet compared to stock, AT ALL)
heres my run down for you: (this is bought and shipped)
magnaflow cat 3" in/out 61.47
uncoated pacesetter headers 239.95
3" s pipe 83.90
edlebrock cat-back 292.90
install was 500 for headers and everything.
pacesetters are good, but i suggest the ceramic coated ones not the painted ones. also, just know that header installation will cost you about 400 dollars at the least unless you know people.. but i got my headers from www.fttp.net
As far as catbacks, i agree with 98camaro3.8. listen to the soundclips and see what you like.
$83.90 for an s-pipe? i hope you were wearing lipstick, so at least your face looked cute while you were getting screwed over lol
but seriously, if you're looking at exhaust systems, don't forget Hooker. I've had one for about a year now, and it's great. it has a nice growl at idle, but doesn't have all the interior noise of a flowmaster or some of the others.

huh? it takes like 30 seconds for the shop to cut it in half.. i didnt take mine "out of the box" before it got installed either. im not sure i get what youre saying.. haha.
it sounds like that s pipe might have been from the SLP installation kit. that kit is about 90 bucks.
Y pipe is where the two exhaust manifolds/headers converge into one pipe. then a CAT is connected then an S pipe is connected to rout the exhaust more towards the center of the car.
crawl under your car to get an idea.

Lol I got the SLP install kit for $38. The only thing it didn't have was one of the hangers:)
I'd like to see who charged you $500 for the install. Is it me, or does it seem like you want to be screwed ;) The shops around here wouldn't even charge half of that.... At least the one I'm going to.

thats the only shop in the three nearby cities that would do my headers, and thats not a bad price for headers, all 3 inch including some fab, and cat back all fit and installed properly.
who cares if i paid too much for an s pipe? mines louder so nah nah lol j/k
but seriously......
