  • Exaust System

Hey. I have a '94 Camaro coupe, and it has the stock exaust system, whic is one pipe and muffler and other stuff. What would i need to get, to have duel exaust pipes, other then tips if needed?

it's more work than it's worth on a 3.4... I did it once but clearance was too much of a problem... if you're determined to do it do a search on ls1.com for "true duals" or "dual exhaust" and you'll get lots of good ideas and pictures...

If all you want is two exhaust pipes coming out the back, just get a crossflow-position muffler with two outlets. Example: Dynomax Super Turbo #17739

F-bodies usually have one exhaust pipe, and dual tips.

To accomplish that, you need to basically have a muffler w/ one inlet, and two outlets. Those are pretty easy to find. If you do not care about max performance, you do not need a new I-pipe (the pipe between your catalytic converter and muffler). If you do want max performance, then get a larger I pipe (the I pipe also has a part called the s pipe that is right after the cat converter and right before the straight section of the I pipe, if at all possible, try to get a larger version of that as well), new hi flow cat, maybe even headers.

Do a search, you will find a LOT of information.

If you want true dual (ie, two pipes going to two mufflers) that is a lot of work, go take a look at cz28.com, go to the lt1 forum, and search in the lt1 forum for true duals. You will find a lot of nfo there. Probably not worth it for a lightly modded 3.4L though. It would be custom work, yes, but you could get it done for less than what some overpriced catbacks cost (like Borla).

I'll agree that Borla's are overpriced but there are a ton of people selling them cheap on the internet (V8 boards in particular). I saw one on LS1tech.com the other day for $250 + shipping. Thats a badass deal. I got mine for like $400 shipped to my door from a guy of the internet. All you have to do is your homework but it is worth every penny, especially with headers, catco, and a good intake setup. :D

Just buy the dual-outlet muffler, then take it down to your local exhaust shop and have them put it on. They can bend the tailpipes for you.
