93, no way. Race gas with a race tune, possibly.

why woudl you need a "race tune" If you are knocking and you put a higher octane gas in... should eliminate knock. Why would race tune be needed. I know a sotck car 100 octane is useless but if you are expereincing knock then higher octane.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean you'd need a race tune. I'm not sure how high an octane you would need to compensate for something as extreme as a 14.0:1 a/f ratio.

hey guys I tried it out... I seemed to notice a gain but then again I apparently I have CAT issues so, maybe its flowing good maybe its blocking up, either way I got chunks flaoting around in it... hard to say...

But what thing I noticed, now and when I tried it before...

does it seem like it works, then after a few times of shutting the car off it doesn't work anymore?

Seems like I noticed that on my old car as well...

any thoughts on that or jsut my a$$ometer just needs to be recalibrated :D

It might get into the low 50s here next week. That would afford me the opportunity to do some legitamate autotap testing.

my a$$ometer is so uncalibrated from stunt flying, I don't know if I am sitting or standing.

            I made a variable resistor for experiments on my 83 S10 4x4 Blazer which I have installed a 94 F body 3.4 drivetrain in.
I used a VOM to set it close to stock and added a pigtail so the VR could be unplugged without harming factory wiring.
I then cranked the resistor up alittle at a time until it ran the best.
Cant use my autotap on a 94 as its the OBDII.
How can you monitor the A/F on this?

You could shell out major $$ for a wideband o2 sensor setup...or...

Ghetto rig a voltmeter or AF ratio gauge onto the o2 sensor. I have a sunpro gauge that I got at autozone for $24. It occilates wildly, but I can generally decifer trend information from it. It is pretty accurate at WOT.

If you really wanted to be cheap, just wire a voltmeter into your 02 sensor. Then read the general trends off of that. The o2 sensor reports in increments of .1 volts, .
