Ok ladies and gentlemen. I can't take this anymore, my ram air system has to go for the remainder of this summer.

heres a pic of what it looks like. It's functional with the hood. My problem is no mat what I do I can't keep the bugs from getting into it. They somehow get passed the K&N. So I took some screening and wrapped it around the top of the box. It kept a lot out but still some managed to get through. So a few nights ago i had to take the screen on and it's a Pain in the *** to put back on so i lft it off. And today working on my car it was like the ****in mothman prophecies in my MAF. So **** the ram air. It's making my bay crammed anyway and it's big and bulky and isn't hardly doing anything for me but blowing hot air in.
So my ? to you is...
I want a different intake for the remainder of the summer but only something temporary until all our little friends die off. How well would putting some kind of elbow onto the intake and just putting some kind of cone filter on the end towards the engine so it wouldn't be near the heat? How well would that work? I dont' want to fork out the money for CAI or any of that ****. And i don't have any stock airboxes or anything. And that ram air isn't freakin staying much longer
I dont' know, any input?
