  • Tips for changing manifolds?

I'm getting ready to change out my old manifolds for a set of used tubular manifolds. Everyone says this is a PITA, guess I'll find out for myself. I've got my Haynes manual to help me, but does anyone have any benificial tips to help me out?

I've got fel-pro manifold gaskets and anti-seize lubricant. Guess I'll get new 02 sensors while I'm at it. Do I need a gasket for where the manifold bolts up to the y-pipe(collector gasket?) ? Maybe new manifold bolts?

I'm thinking about takeing some pics of the install, and I'll post my results.

Wear protecive gloves. Take your time. Good luck. The heat shields can be frustrating.

On the PITA scale I figure this is gonna be around a 10. Recruited my redneck mechanic :D friend to help me with this one. Shops want ~$200 to do this job, but I only paid a third of that for these manifolds! I guess thats where the PITA factor comes in :(

        wear gloves
buy some new bolts, and write down the sizes for the information db.
you may want to take some acc off like the alt, and move the AC like me and Teal had to for my headers.
