sound change with tip change?

does changing the tips on your exhaust change the sound of it? i have the quad tip b&b and i want to change the tips in the near future. how does the sound change, if it does. and does anyone know where i can get quad tips that look like corvette tips?

On the B&B can you change it to the flowmaster/magnaflow-like tips? will it hurt the sound too much?

I have huge tips and they sound a lot louder and deeper than my friends 3.4L cuz hes got the smaller dual/dual tips. His is a lot queiter...
