  • TPS help!

    I need to change my tps and i can’t find the part that i need to change. I went to one of my local shops and they were going to charge me $80 to change it, but then they found out they couldn’t do it because i had to change out my whole throttle body out ($600 job). So does anyone have any better options for me?
    1999 Camaro V6, 3.8L,Flowmaster 80, AR 17\"X9.5\" Torq-Thrust II Yokohama275/40WR/17,B&MRipper,BMR STB,BRM Lower Arm Relocation Brackets.

    Im not finding anything for a TPS in SI, i think they might be right but lets see if Matt chimes in.

      Built into the Throttle Actuator Control Assembly (reference Description/Operation and Schematics in SI).

      Can't find much info on 99+ setups, but I don't think it can be replaced seperately.

      Why do you think you need a new one?

        I scaned my car with hptuners and it came back with as P1514 code; airflow to Tp Sensor correlation high.

          DTC P1514 Throttle Body Performance

          Circuit Description:

          The PCM uses the TP, BARO, IAT and engine RPM in order to calculate an expected Mass Airflow rate. The PCM compares this value to the Mass Airflow value and the speed density calculation in order to verify the proper throttle operation.


          Conditions for Setting the DTC:

          The PCM detects that the actual airflow (MAF) and Speed Density is much greater than the expected (calculated) airflow rate.
          All of the above conditions met for less than 1 second.
          Do you have any other DTCs set?

          Only thing the manual says to do is check for something loose or broken on the TB. Otherwise it says to replace the TB.

            does your car ever have trubble starting, my 01 would not start some times because the butter fly valve would get stuck shut. take it off and clean it real good, and adjust the idle screw. worked for me.
